Pig casting machine

A special technique allows the production of pigs (ingots) with a good surface with the help of the pig casting machine. This will be achieved by the casting wheel that ensures a turbulence -free pouring of the heat and by the cooling system with its cooling basin. The metal itself will not get in contact with the cooling water and will be cooled down to the operating temperature in a closed cooling water cycle. There is a cooling zone upstream of the place, where the pigs are automatically stacked, in order to achieve the temperature that is necessary for permanently bundling the pigs.

Design features

• stable support frame made of steel profiles with an endless chain for picking up the molds that are made of special cast iron;
  
  
• casting wheel made of special cast iron with discharge nozzles;
  
  
• water trough with staggered water inlet for optimal cooling;
  
  
• limit stop for the pigs;
  
  
• pre-heating and spraying devices for molds;
  
  
• metal charging system consisting of collecting trough with refractory lining and shut-off nozzles as well as a stamping device;
  
  
• cooling conveyer designed as steel-plate conveyer with water trough;
  
  
• collecting and storage desk with a turnover device upstream;
  
  
• stacking robot for different stacking shapes;
  
  
• setting station and stack collecting station employing a walking-beam conveyer.

The pig casting machine can also be supplied without the stacking device or with a spray-cooling system for a casting and stacking capacity of between 3 and 25 t/h.
