Detail Engineering

As soon as the funding of a project has been ensured, for which the strategies developed during the initial engineering phase and the associated cost statements form a major basis, the execution of the project can start. The basics established during the basic engineering will be verified and the detailed planning can commence. The elements and plant components will be presented in a functional context and in their spatial configuration, so that the arrangements concerning the connections, the traffic routes and the interfaces can be finalized. The technical data will be verified or collected and agreed with all parties involved. This applies to the delivery dates and the required assembly input, too.

The detail engineering also includes the preparation of foundation drawings and load plans, on the basis of which the customer is usually able to award contracts for construction services. Piping diagrams for supply media, such as gas (or oil), oxygen, cooling water and compressed air, as well as cable diagrams will also be prepared. Similar activities of a lesser extent are required, when only partial plants are supplied.

All deliveries are coordinated within the overall time schedule, so that the components arrive at the right time and in the right place and can be installed without any delay. Services rendered locally, such as the foundations, will be duly taken into account. The coordination of the deadlines, together with the cost monitoring and control, is a key function of the project management.
